Wish I Was There:
Our assignment was to "place someone in a different location" using Photoshop. Each student was to get two pictures and use the lasso tool on Photoshop to place a face on a different place. I took a picture of my younger sister and place the face on the actress that plays Angelica in Hamilton. I first inserted the picture of Hamilton and the picture of my sister into Photoshop. I then used the lasso tool and outlined her face. After the outline was completed, I moved the area onto the image of the Hamilton actresses. I used the selection tool to select the area I outlined that I moved onto the image and chose "Free Transform." After that was selected I moved the figure onto where I wanted to place it and changed the size and rotation so that it fit onto the face of the actress. I then chose the blur tool and blurred around the edges of the face so that it blended to look more natural. After all was completed, I adjusted the brightness and saturation. I learned a lot about Photoshop and the different tools that could be used while completing this assignment.
Album Cover:
The class was assigned to create two album covers using Photoshop. The first album cover required was required to be created based on a song of our choice. I chose the song "Brooklyn Baby" by Lana Del Rey. I cropped the background and lowered the saturation. I then used the lasso tool to outline an image of Lana Del Rey and used free transformation to change the size of the image and place it on the left side. I then used the lasso tool to outline an image of a rose and place it onto my cover. I then made 7 copies and used placed four copies in two corners. I added text and changed the font and color. On the back of the cover I copied and pasted the lyrics using the text tool and I changed the font and color. I placed an image that I cropped in the background. For the second album cover, the class was required to form an album cover with a song we were assigned. The directions explained the at least ten images were required and images of the artist were not allowed. I was assigned the song "Invitation to the Blues." I used the lyrics of the song to find images that relate. I lassoed each image and place it on the cropped background. I used free transform to change the size of each image and scattered them on the cover. I used the text tool to add the title of the song to the top and change the color and font. On the back of the cover, I copied the background and placed a couple images from the front. I copied and pasted the lyrics and, by using the text tool, I changed the size, color, and font of the words.
T-Shirt:
The class was assigned to create a design to print on transfer paper to be printed on a t-shirt. The design was required to relate to our personal album cover. My design, therefore, was based on the artist, Lana Del Rey. I created this design using Photoshop. I created an 8x8" black square as the base. Then I typed my artist's name with text and changed the font, size, and color. I did this four times and layered the fonts on top of each other. Then I found an image of my artist and selected the area where the artist was present and left out the background. I then moved the selected area onto the black square and used the filter gallery to put a filter on the artist. I copied the result twice and layer this beneath the text. When I finished the design, the design was flipped over and printed on transfer paper, then transferred on a plain cloth.
